WHO WE ARE
Fridays for Future Barnstaple is a group of teenagers (and beyond) united under a common goal: to bring the climate crisis into public conversation in order to pressure institutions to act now so that our futures - and those already experiencing the impacts - are protected. Inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg (and the dire actions of our government), we have held some form of public event almost every month since May 2019, ranging from small assemblies to general strikes ~850+ strong as part of an international strike.
WHAT WE DO
Every month we take to the streets of Barnstaple to show the people in power that we arent messing around and that action needs to be taken. We take to the streets because our future is at threat. Are we the last generation? We will continue to take action upon the climate and ecological crisis until something huge is done for our future! You call a climate emergency but #whereisyourplan?
